How to use squinty eyes emoji the right way

On WhatsApp, squinty expressions work naturally in personal conversations. They can soften jokes, emphasize laughter, or make a reaction feel more expressive than plain text.

For example: “You seriously did that 😆” feels more playful than the same sentence without an emoji.

On Instagram, these expressions can fit captions, comments, Stories, and casual replies. Creators may use them to add personality without making a caption too formal.

On TikTok, expressive faces often appear alongside humor, reactions, irony, and relatable situations. The surrounding caption usually determines whether the reaction feels genuinely amused or intentionally exaggerated.

Do: Match the expression with the mood and surrounding words.
Don’t: Add several contrasting expressions when the message could become confusing.

Do: Consider the relationship with the person receiving it.
Don’t: Assume everyone interprets every emoji in exactly the same way.
